Steven C. Sosensky, Esq. is experienced in general practice areas, plus environmental law and regulation, climate change litigation, transportation, trucking, and U.S. DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety law, regulation, and compliance, including defense of citations. His practice also includes business formation, civil, commercial, and corporate litigation, criminal law and litigation, regulatory law, professional licensing, state and federal administrative law, land use and planning, commercial collections, and media and public relations.

Mr. Sosensky is a graduate of University of Connecticut (B.A., 1985) and Western New England College School of Law (J.D., 1988). He was previously employed as a summer associate at the Office of the Attorney General, Department of Public Utility Control, Connecticut, 1986, and Schatz & Schatz, Ribicoff & Kotkin, 1987. He then joined Joseloff & Joseloff, as an associate, 1988-1990. Thereafter, Mr. Sosensky began is own practice, Law Offices of Steven C. Sosensky, 1990-2001, and is currently a partner at Shipman, Sosensky & Marks LLC.

He has received several awards, including the Annual Conservation Award, Quinnipiac River Watershed Association, 2003, Who's Who in American Law, 2001-2002, and the American Jurisprudence Award, Environmental Problems, 1988.

His public service includes: Commissioner/Chairman, Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission, Hamden, 2001-2009. In addition, he is a Governor’s Appointment to the Long Island Sound Advisory Council and Assembly as an environmental specialist, a member of the Dredging Taskforce Committee of the State Citizen Advisory Committee, an appointee to the federal Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA), Long Island Sound Stewardship Initiative Workgroup, and a member of the EPA/New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission (NEIWPCC) review team for Stewardship Site Selection Criteria and GIS-based Tool. He was the first member of the Sacred Heart University advisory board for the development of a Professional Science Masters in Environmental Systems Analysis and Management program. He has also lectured on Entrepreneurial Studies and Business Law at University of Hartford, Barney School of Business, and serves as a trial judge for Yale University’s Mock Trial Association Annual Competition.

Mr. Sosensky is a member of the Motor Transport Association of Connecticut, Inc., and is admitted to the United States District Court, and the Hartford and New Haven County, and Connecticut Bar Associations.

Mr. Sosensky is a resident of the Town of Hamden.
